About the position

The Community Administration within Härnösand Municipality consists of five departments that together are responsible for a range of areas within community building. Urban planning, processing building permits, planning and operation of nature and recreational areas, supervision according to the Environmental Code and other legislation, as well as the operation and development of streets and parks are some of the issues we are responsible for. We work together to create a sustainable society today and for future generations.

We are eight employees in the Environmental Department, where we are responsible for supervision under the Environmental Code, food legislation, as well as alcohol, tobacco, and certain pharmaceuticals. We often work together in different groups to learn from each other.

Job Responsibilities

As a case officer, you will work with supervision and assessment according to food legislation, the Alcohol Act, and the Tobacco Act. The distribution of the position can be adapted based on your wishes and experiences, but will always include food control.

The work includes supervision of businesses, processing incoming applications and permit matters, following up on complaints, and providing advice and information to companies and the public.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection, food safety, law, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent. You may also have acquired knowledge through work experience in the field. Previous work as a food inspector or permit case officer is an advantage, as is academic education in food science, microbiology, economics, or public health.

To be considered for the position, you must have good knowledge of food legislation; we also see it as advantageous if you have knowledge of the Alcohol Act, the Tobacco Act, and administrative law, as well as experience in public authority exercise.

Since we work with public authority exercise, it is important that you can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, have good computer skills, and understand your role as a public authority representative. To succeed in the role, it is important that you have a pedagogical and solution-oriented approach in your public authority exercise. Since a large part of our work involves contact between authorities and entrepreneurs, citizens, and other authorities, you need to communicate clearly, professionally, and factually with entrepreneurs.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, you are secure, structured, and service-oriented with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. Setting and adhering to deadlines, as well as the ability to work independently and take responsibility, is important in our organization.

You must also have a driver's license. We have access to environmental cars and electric bikes.

Additional Information

The position is a full-time position, and we apply individual salary setting. The start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.

A six-month probationary period may apply. Working hours are mainly during the day, but supervision also takes place in the evenings and on weekends. Selection and interviews may occur on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to apply!
